The Aqueduct SED System is based upon traditional gravity-based drainage systems, but is designed to allow for the automated regulation of ICP without the need for continuous manual measurements, adjustments and interventions.
Maintenance of the current systems is cumbersome as any shift of the patient’s position requires a trained nurse to manually readjust the device level. The Aqueduct SED System will compensate for patient movement and allow far greater mobility, and eliminating the need for trained nursing staff to manually adjust the system.
The SED System consists of two primary components:
- SED Console
- Sterile, single use SED Cartridge which is inserted to interface with the SED Console
